Come and join us at Maplewood State Park for our Leaf Day Celebration!
Leaf Days will be held on the weekends of September 29-30 and October 6-7. Each of those weekends many activities will be taking place from 10:00am – 4:00pm.
Maplewood State Park is located on Highway 108, 8 miles east of Pelican Rapids or 20 miles west of Perham, MN.
The Friends of Maplewood has organized activities for families to enjoy when they visit Maplewood during Leaf Days. Of course there are hikes and the viewing of the beautiful leaves. In addition, the Friends of Maplewood group has the following activities available:
> Wagon rides to learn about Maplewood and view leaves
> Making apple juice using an apple press
> Making rope
> Corn shelling and corn grinding
> Butter making
> Early settler toys and games
> Rag dolls
> Nature area
> Woodworking projects
> Nature craft project
> Digital scavenger hunt
> GPS hunt for maple leaves
> Other demonstrations that will vary each day
The Friends of Maplewood will also be selling food, clothing and maple syrup as a fund raiser for our Maplewood projects.
So come on out to Maplewood to celebrate fall. Tell your friends and relatives about Leaf Days. It will be a great time.
