Double Coffeecake Imperial Stout / Can Release
January 4th @ 2 pm - 9 pm

coffee.jpg

In case you've never had our very first recipe, and flagship beer, Coffeecake Blond Ale, it's quite a refreshing treat. Packed with locally roasted Kaffe Havn, Inc. coffee, ceylon cinnamon, and vanilla bean paste, it screams complexity with crushability. Well, for the first time, we'd to introduce Coffeecake's older sister, Double Coffeecake, an imperial stout brewed with, well double the ingredients we normally use in Coffeecake blonde. 200 ounces of coffee went into this beer, along with a tonskis of nice cinnamon, vanilla, roasted malts, and more. Not quite as drinkable but will be sure to send you for a fun ride. Join us this Friday for the official can release, with very limited cans making their way to MSP. Stay tuned for that. On ahead.

Your Yoga Journey
January 3rd @ 6 pm - 7 pm

NEW CLASS Thursdays 6:00 pm -7:00 pm

Just in time for the new year!

Yoga is often referred to as “union” or “to yoke.” We often experience this union in our own way. However, once we leave a class it is easy to forget the valuable things we learned. In this class, students are encouraged to bring a journal for personal reflection. Together we will explore posture/movement (asana), breath (pranayama) and meditation (dhyana).

Local folk-punk musician and storyteller Shannon Murray hosts the January edition of Headwaters Open-Mic CoffeeHouse. The CoffeeHouse, held on the first Friday of most months, runs from 7 to 10pm on Friday, January 4 at Headwaters Music & Arts in Bemidji. Sign-up begins at 6:30.

“First Friday Coffeehouse was the first place I performed for an attentive, supportive audience,” Murray noted. “I was learning to play. As a host, I am looking forward to being part of creating that environment for other performers.”

Headwaters Open-Mic features music and spoken word performance in a family friendly environment. All ages and skill levels are encouraged to sign up for a 10 to 15 minute set. Performers and audience alike appreciate the welcoming tone and reasonable fee, $3/person or $7/family. Good coffeehouse fare is provided by Cantabria Coffee Co.

Murray has shared her music and message throughout the country. “I approach guitar playing and songcraft like it's a contact sport,” she said, “with intensely political and deeply personal songs.”

"Gratitude is key for New Year’s intentions. Gratitude is a multiplier, so whatever it is that you feel grateful for will continue to manifest in your life. As you begin to contemplate what your New Year’s intention (or intentions) will be, look for gratitude in all that you have. Sit in stillness and tap into the energy of the heart center, and allow yourself to actually FEEL the energy that flows from the heart." Julie Eisenberg.
